Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

Researchers at University of California, Berkeley, are always doing the coolest shit (yes it’s my alma mater and I’m biased, I know). The latest exciting thing Berkeley researchers have developed is creating a material that bends light around 3D objects, making the objects ‘disappear’. So remember that childhood fantasy of owning an Invisibility Cloak? The reality of that happening is not far away.

According to the researchers, light is neither absorbed nor reflected by the objects. Instead, it passes by the object like “water flowing around a rock”. The result: only light from behind the objects can be seen. Crazy!
