<3 SF!

Had the pleasure of skipping over to the west coast over President’s Day weekend and catching some much-needed fresh air in San Francisco. It’s the perfect antidote to the fast-paced, 24/7 living of NYC. And did I mention how great the air quality is? ;) Simply couldn’t get enough of that crisp, clean oxygen.

There were many highlights from the 3 day adventure: saw my parents, had some delicious food and great conversations with my buddy Z of Fail Salon fame. I also: got suckered into buying lipstick by a tranvestite at Nordstrom’s (she/he was so charming and on top of her/his game!), paid a visit to De Young museum in Golden Gate Park, and got called a ‘China Doll’ by a homeless lady ;)

The best part of the trip was a visit to Gap’s Art Gallery, which is a private collection only accessible by corporate Gap employees. Apparently the founders of Gap are huge modern art fans with an impressive private collection of works by Lichtenstein, Warhol, Calder, Chuck Close, and many of their contemporaries. Luckily for me, I know someone who works for Gap and thus had the privilege of seeing this secret collection. Here are some pics I sneaked with my non-flash camera phone. Enjoy!

i laughed when you mentioned the tranny at Nordstrom’s b/c my coworker is always freaked out by the MAC people. Her quote is “the giant hands putting on the make up doesn’t match the face of the person applying it!”
